This election is over, but our work has just begun....
We have a lot to celebrate. Most of all I want to celebrate the great people who helped bring change to our nation and celebrate our historic party unity and victories across our nation to take back our country....
Thank You. Now we must work to take back seats on our local County Board of Supervisors, and through out our State and local Governments.
It's time Democrats represent the Inland Empire!
Our work now begins to convince our State Democratic Party that San Bernardino County Matters. I, nor any of the challenging Democrats running for Assembly and Senate in San Bernardino County, now a Blue County, received one dime of support from the State Democratic Assembly Caucus, and the State Democratic Party--It's time to stand up and remind them that Democrats in this county pay dues, and work hard too...
A special Thank You to the California Teachers Association, The Communications Workers of America, the various Inland Democratic Clubs, and to all of the seniors, and students who worked on my campaign. Thank you for all of the phones calls made, Thank You for all of the doors knocked on..Thanks for all of the hours and donations, and cookies baked.
We ran a great campaign and it showed at the polls...
It's a tough road to beat an incumbent, but Thanks to all of your hard work on the Westwood Campaign we can hold our heads high. We stuck to the issues, and stood on firm ground, and together our team might not have won this Assembly Race, but together as a team we elected Barack Obama as our President, and we have a Democratic Majority on both the state and Federal Levels...
Because we worked hard we can say that nearly 76,000 people, a record number for any Democrat ever running in the 63rd Assembly District, voted for Mark Westwood, and the Westwood Campaign for Change, and that there was only a 8% Difference in the Votes...The 2008 campaign received over 30,000 votes more than in 2006 when we waged this campaign the first time...
Only one other Democrat running for state assembly in San Bernardino County, an unoppossed incumbent, received more votes!
It was a strong Campaign and I am grateful to each and everyone who contributed, endorsed, volunteered, and worked on my campaign...you were all incredible!!!
